1 killed, 2 injured in gas cylinder blast in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: One person was killed while two others were grievously injured after a gas cylinder exploded inside a scrap shop near Rajakiari Chhak under Khandapada police limits of Nayagarh district today.

The deceased has been identified as Anil Kumar Sahu, a staff of the scrap shop.

The mishap reportedly took place when one of the staff of the shop was working with a gas cutter.

While Anil died on the spot, the two injured were rushed to a nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment, informed sources.

"My brother died in front of me. I couldn't do anything. I was standing outside the shop," said brother of the deceased, Trilochan Sahu.

Meanwhile, the Khandapada police has reached the spot and started an investigation into the incident.
