As India enters its 72nd year of independence, some of us have had the freedom we hoped for, while it has not been as rosy for the rest. While some of us have been able to cross borders for our careers, others have had to drop out from school to feed their families.
To understand if we are truly free, we spanned the length and breadth of India to figure what freedom means to Indians today and if they truly feel independent. Be it Koshur or Tamil, Marathi or Assamese, Indians spoke to us in their mother tongue and expressed their meaning of freedom.
