Odisha is all set to experience a fresh spell of rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall activities in some districts of the state.

As per the IMD, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around September 29, and under its influence a low-pressure area is likely to form over the north Andaman Sea and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 24 hours. Thereafter, it is likely to move west-northwestwards with the possibility of gradual intensification, said IMD.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Rayagada, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Boudh, Angul.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 30.09.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Puri, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur.

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Malkangiri, Koraput.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 01.10.2023)

Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir.
