The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog in coastal and nearby districts for three days starting January 21. 

The occurrence of dense fog may drop the visibility which may affect traffic movement on roads. A yellow warning for dense fog has been issued for some districts for January 21, 22 and 23. 

“It has been predicted that one or two places of some districts will witness light rain in the coming six days. Similarly, a yellow warning has been issued for coastal and nearby districts as there is a likelihood of dense fog in the next three days," said IMD Bhubaneswar scientist, Umashankar Das.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024) 

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara,Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam,Gajapati,Kandhamal,Rayagada, Kalahandi, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Bolangir, Sonepur and Boudh.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.01.2024)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam,Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Cuttack, Angul and Bolangir.

Day 3(Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.01.2024)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam,Gajapati, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Bolangir and Kalahandi.
