A cyclonic circulation lies over north Bangladesh in lower and middle tropospheric levels, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

The monsoon trough is likely to be north of its normal position or along the foothills of the Himalayas during the next 4-5 days.

As per IMD, subdued rainfall activity is likely over Central, West, and South India during the next seven days.

Northwest India: Light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall activity very likely over Uttarakhand during 8th-12th; East Uttar Pradesh during 8th, 9th & 12th and over West Uttar Pradesh on 9th August, 2023.

East India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall activity very likely over Bihar during 8th-10th, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 8th, 11th & 12th.

Northeast India: Light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall activity very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during next 5 days.
