The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm and lighting for 15 districts in Odisha.
According to a bulletin issued by the weather officer, a yellow warning has been issued for Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khordha, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nayagarh and Kandhamal.
Moreover, there will be no large change in the maximum temperature (Day temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 5 days, the MeT office predicted.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Khurda, Gajapati, Ganjam. Moreover, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 20.05.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up ot 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 21.05.2023)
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur.
