Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next five days starting today, India Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar predicted on Sunday.

According to a tweet of IMD, Bhubaneswar, "Several districts in Odisha are likely to experience heavy (7 cm to 11 cm) to very heavy (11 cm-20 cm) rainfall in the next five days."

"The pre-monsoon rain in the State is paving the way for Monsoon advancement," the regional weather office informed in the tweet.

Meanwhile, the regional met office has issued yellow warning for several districts for the next five days in view of the rainfall activity.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 20.06.2022): Yellow Warning( Be updated) 

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha. 

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.06.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 21.06.2022): Yellow Warning( Be updated)

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Boudh, Bolangir. 
Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Ganjam, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj. 

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sambalpur.
