The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Odisha between July 1 and 3.

A Yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning has been issued for the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal in the next 24 hours.

As per IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershower is also likely to occur at a few places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur in the next 24 hours.

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 28.06.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 29.06.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.06.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.06.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 30.06.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 01.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 02.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Kendrapara.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 03.07.2021) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, South Interior Odisha. Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Angul and Dhenkanal.
