Two western disturbances in quick succession are likely to affect northwest India during the next 5 to 6 days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.

As per IMD, isolated heavy rainfall/snowfall is also likely over Kashmir valley, Himachal Pradesh on January 31 and February 1 and Uttarakhand on January 31 under its influence.

Apart from this, light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is very likely over Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi and isolated to scattered rainfall over Uttar Pradesh during January 31 to February 1, 2024. The IMD has also predicted isolated hailstorm over Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana on January 31 and over Uttarakhand on January 31 & February 1, 2024.

Dense Fog And Cold Day Warning

Dense to very dense fog conditions very likely to prevail in morning hours over isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi on January 31, 2nd February and dense fog in isolated pockets on 3rd February, 2024.

Dense Fog conditions in isolated pockets very likely to prevail for a few hours in morning over Odisha during January 31 to February 2; over north Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar on January 31, 2024.

Cold day conditions very likely to continue in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh January 30 and abate thereafter.
