Several parts of Odisha witnessed rainfall and thundershower activities in the past couple of days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for rain and thunderstorm for several parts of the State.

As per the latest data shared by IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, Bhuban (Dhenkanal district) recorded the highest rainfall of 37 mm in the past 24 hours.

Here are the top 10 districts which recorded rainfall in the past 24 hours

- Dhenkanal (Station- Bhuban): 37 mm

- Jagatsinghpur (Station-Paradip): 36.2 mm

- Sundergarh (Station- Panposh): 30 mm

- Bhadrak (Bhadrak): 26.8 mm

- Jajpur (Station-Binjharpur): 25mm

- Keonjhar (Station-Ghatagaon): 24.4 mm

- Kendrapara (Station-Rajkanika): 24 mm

- Jajpur (Station-Bari): 23.5mm

- Mayurbhanj (Station-Jashipur): 22.4 mm

- Balasore(Station- Remuna): 22 mm

As per IMD, there will be no change in minimum (night) temperature during the next two days and gradually fall by 3 to 5 degree Celsius thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.01.2022) Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.01.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.01.2022)

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Khordha and Cuttack.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.01.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.01.2022) Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati and Ganjam.
