 As predicted, cold wave conditions adversely affected normal life in different parts of Odisha following a sharp decline in the minimum (night) temperature on Sunday. The cold conditions prevailed at isolated parts over the districts of north interior Odisha.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday had predicted a drop in the minimum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a yellow warning for cold wave conditions in three districts- Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Keonjhar for today.

“Cold wave condition very likely to prevail over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Sonepur, Bolangir, Kalahandi in next 24 hours,” said IMD.

There will be no large change in minimum temperature (Night Temperature) during next two days and gradually rise by 3 to 5 degree Celsius thereafter over the districts of Odisha.

As per IMD, Sonepur recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 8.8 degree Celsius on Saturday night. The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded 12.2 and 12.3 degrees, respectively.
