Several parts of Odisha will experience moderate rain and thunderstorm activities in the next 48 hours, predicted India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

As per IMD, the low pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining south Uttar Pradesh has become less marked.

Apart from this, the trough now runs from Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal to central parts of West Rajasthan across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan and extends up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.

Meanwhile, no district in Odisha has received deficient rainfall this Monsoon season, data of the India Meteorological Department revealed.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated) Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.

Heavy rainfall also very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kalahandi.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha till September 27, 2022.
