Even as several parts of Odisha are experiencing scorching heat and intense humid conditions for the past couple of days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted thunderstorm activities in several districts in the next 24 hours.
A yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning has been issued for six Odisha districts in the next 24 hours. The alert has been issued for the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the coastal Odisha districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Koraput.
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightening is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput and Mayurbhanj.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
