The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted that thunderstorm and lightning activities will continue in Odisha in the coming days.
A Yellow warning has been issued for several districts and people in these districts have been asked to remain alert to lightning strike incidents.
As per IMD, thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar,Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri in the next 24 hours.

“The trough at mean sea level from west Uttar Pradesh to Assam now runs from northwest Rajasthan to East Assam across Haryana, north Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level,” said IMD.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nawarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri.
