Even though the winter chill is gone, people in several parts of Odisha experienced dense fog on Sunday. As a thick layer of fog also engulfed the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, it caused severe inconvenience to people, especially the commuters.

The visibility dropped to less than 50 to 100 mts at several parts of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. It is for the second time in the past three to four days that the dense fog cover was witnessed in the Twin City.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had on Saturday predicted shallow to moderate fog in one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

As per IMD, light to moderate rain or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj in next 24 hours.

A ‘Yellow Warning (Be updated)’ for thunderstorm with lightning has also been issued for one or two places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.(The warning is valid till 0830 hours on January 24).
