Scorching heat conditions in Bhubaneswar
The March has just set in and the mercury is showing signs of rising in Odisha. On Sunday, the capital city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar recorded a temperature exceeding 35 degrees, reaching a high of 35.6 degree Celsius by 2:30 pm.
As per official sources, today’s temperature in Bhubaneswar marks a slight rise from yesterday, when the maximum temperature stood at 34 degree C during the same time period.
Not in Bhubaneswar, several parts of Odisha are experiencing a steep rise in the maximum temperature.
In Chandabali, temperature also increased to 35.4°C today compared to yesterday's 34.8°C at 2:30 pm.
The people in these parts of the state have been urged to take necessary precautions due to the intense heat. Officials recommend staying hydrated and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun wherever possible.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted that there is every possibility that the maximum and minimum temperature in Odisha will rise in coming days. However, things will settle at the current levels for this week.
“No large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) for next 4-5 days and no large change thereafter and no large change in minimum temperature(night temperature) over the districts of Odisha during next 4-5 days,” said IMD.

On Saturday, four places of the State recorded Maximum temperatures among the ‘top 10 hottest locations’ in the country.
The four hottest places in Odisha were Titilagarh (38.5 Degrees Celsius), Jharsuguda (38.2 Degrees Celsius), Bolangir (38.0 Degrees Celsius), and Angul (37.7 Degrees Celsius). The places occupied second, fourth, sixth and tenth positions, respectively.
