Even as several parts of Odisha are grappling with excess heat and humid conditions, possibility of light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorm is likely to provide some respite.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted rainfall and thunderstorm activities in several parts of the state in the next 24 hours.

IMD's Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar informed that a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha experience rain and thunderstorm activities in the past 24 hours.

"The cyclonic circulation over north Jharkhand and neighbourhood between 1.5 km and 3.1 km above mean sea level has become less marked," said IMD.

Earlier the IMD informed that there has been a rise in maximum temperature under the influence of weak monsoon.
