Amid the scorching rise in temperature, Bhubaneswar became the hottest place in Odisha as the Capital city sizzled at 32.6 degree Celsius by 8:30 am in the morning on Monday. As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature in Odisha has started to peak again, severely affecting normal lives. 

While the Temple City had recorded 39.6 degree Celsius a day back on Sunday, residents had to bear the unbearable heat with the temperature touching 32.6 degree Celsius early in the morning. 

Residents are gripped in fear as the day temperature is likely to cross the 40 degree mark today.

Apart from Bhubaneswar, cities like Paradip, Puri and Keonjhar recorded intense temperature at 32 degree Celsius followed by Balasore with 31.8 degree Celsius and 31.6 degree Celsius in Chandbali respectively.

Similarly, Jharsuguda recorded 30.8 degree Celsius, with the temperature remaining at 30.2 degree Celsius in Hirakud, 30 degree Celsius in Sambalpur and Rourkela and 29.8 degree Celsius in Gopalpur by 8:30 am on Monday.

On the other hand, more than 10 places experienced 39 degree Celsius or more temperature across Odisha with Parlakhemundi boiling at 40.5 degree Celsius on Sunday.

Worth mentioning, the IMD has predicted that the temperature is likely to increase by four to six degree for the next five days in several districts.
