Residents reeling from intense cold in Odisha are going to get the much-needed relief from chilly weather as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a rise in temperature from today.

As per the IMD’s Bhubaneswar regional centre, night temperature will increase from today which will bring in relief from the biting cold.

“Minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to gradually rise by 3 to 4 degree Celsius during next 3 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha,” the IMD said in its weather bulletin.

The weather bureau attributed the change in the weather condition in the State to weak northerly air and increase in the flow of sea wind. It also predicted that dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha for the next five days. However, many places in the State will continue to witness foggy weather conditions.

The weather office predicted that shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Keonjhar tomorrow.

Similarly, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar on January 13.
