A Western Disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies runs roughly with an induced cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric level, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

Similarly, another western disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from February 3, 2024. Under the influence of these systems, light/moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/snowfall is very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on February 1, 3 and February 5.

Himachal Pradesh: Light to moderate rain/snowfall accompanied with thunderstorm & lightning at most places on February 1 and February 4. Heavy rainfall/snowfall at isolated places likely on February 1.

Uttarakhand: Light to moderate hailstorm is likely at isolated places on 1st February. Light rain accompanied with gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at most places is also likely over Punjab on 1st February.

Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi: Light to moderate hailstorm is likely over Haryana at isolated places on 1st February. Light rain accompanied with gusty winds (40-50 kmph) at most places is also likely over Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi on 1st February.

West Rajasthan: Light to moderate hailstorm is likely over West Rajasthan at isolated places on 3 rd February.
