After reeling under intense heatwave for the last couple of weeks, people in Odisha are expected to get relief as there is possibility of rain and thunderstorm activities from May 1 onwards.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday issued a forecast predicting rain and thunderstorm for several parts of Odisha. However, the heatwave condition in the State is likely to continue for another two days. As per latest reports, Boudh recorded maximum temperature of 45 degrees for the second time in a row.  Bhubaneswar recorded maximum temperature of 40.2 while Cuttack recorded 40.1 degree Celsius today.

Earlier, the IMD had predicted formation of a low pressure area over south Andaman sea around May 5.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Heat wave condition very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh and Bolangir.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 29.04.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 30.04.2022)
