The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted rain and thundershower activities in several parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

As per the latest forecast, one or two places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Dhenkanal are likely to experience light rain or thundershower activities.

“The cyclonic circulation over north Odisha and neighbourhood extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked. The trough from the cyclonic circulation over north Odisha and neighbourhood to Nagaland across Gangetic West Bengal and Assam extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level has become less marked,” IMD’s forecast read.

It is pertinent to mention here that light rainfall has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Angul and Mayurbhanj while dry weather prevailed at other parts of the State.

Day-1 (valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 27.02.2022)

Light rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Dhenkanal.

Day-2 (valid from 0830hrs IST of 27.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 28.02.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.
