The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted moderate rain and thundershower activities in several parts of the State on January 10, 2022.

As per the alert, districts, including Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur are likely to witness moderate rain and thundershower activities on Monday.

Apart from the rains, there is no possibility of any cold wave conditions as the minimum (night) temperature is likely to rise across the State. “The minimum temperature (night temperature) is likely to rise gradually by 2 to 4 degree Celsius during the next three days. There will be no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha,” said IMD in its release.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next few days:

Day-1 (valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 07.01.2022) Yellow Warning (Be updated): Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Koraput.

Day-2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 07.01.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 08.01.2022) Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of south interior Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak.

Day-3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 08.01.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 09.01.2022) Dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 09.01.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 10.01.2022) Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.01.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.01.2022) Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur.
