Rain and thunderstorms to continue till April 27 in Odisha; expect rise in max temp

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted a rise in the maximum temperature in Odisha in the coming days. As per the forecast, there will be no large change in maximum or day temperature during the next three days, and gradually rise by 2 to 4 degrees thereafter in the state.

The IMD has also predicted that thunderstorm activities are also likely to continue in various parts of Odisha till April 27, 2025. A yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning has also been issued for some districts along with gusty winds.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada,Nabarangapur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.04.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.04.2025)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Rayagada.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.04.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.04.2025)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam.

Day 7 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 26.04.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 27.04.2025): Light to moderate rain or Thundershower very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput ,Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Keonjhar.
