Several parts of Odisha will experience rain and thunderstorm activities from February 25, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday.

Though the overall weather will remain dry, the premier weather agency has issued a ‘Yellow Warning’ for thunderstorm and lighting for several districts in the State in the coming days. The warning has been issued for the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur.

As per IMD, there will be no large change in the minimum temperature (night temperature) during next 4 to 5 days over the districts of Odisha.

Weather Forecast:

Dry weather is most likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha till February 24.

Day-4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 24.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 25.02.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh,Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Day-5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 25.02.2022 up to 0830 hrs IST of 26.02.2022)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated): Thunderstorm with lighting is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Jajpur.
