Probability of cyclogenesis over BoB high in 96-120 hours: IMD

The probability of cyclogenesis (formation of depression) is high over Bay of Bengal (BoB) in the next 96-120 hours, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

As per IMD, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the south Andaman sea and neighbourhood around May 4. under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over the same region around May 6.

It is likely to become more marked during the subsequent 24 hours. In its latest weather bulletin, IMD said that the probability of cyclogenesis (formation of depression) is moderate in the 72-96 hours but high in 96-120 hours.
