Orange alert for thunderstorm in Odisha
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted that there will be no large change in the maximum temperature (day temperature) for the next 6-7 days over the districts of Odisha.
The maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to be equal to or above 40°C in the isolated pockets in the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Boudh. However, there is the possibility of thunderstorm activities in different parts of Odisha, which will continue for the next few days.
The IMD has issued an orange warning for thunderstorms with lightning, with gusty surface wind speeds reaching 50- 60 kmph in some districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours. A yellow warning for thunderstorms has also been issued for some districts of the state till May 21, 2025.
