Bhubaneswar: As many as 7 towns recorded temperature above 40 degree Celsius in Odisha on Monday. Boudh registered the highest temperature of 41 degree Celsius during the day. 

Mercury remained at 39 degree Celsius in the State Capital city Bhubaneswar while in Cuttack, the temperature recorded was 38 degree Celsius. Towns recording more than 40 degree Celsius are Sonepur 40.8, Angul 40.7, Sambalpur 40.5, Sundargarh, Titlagarh and Malkangiri each at 40.0 degree Celsius. 

As per the latest weather bulletin by the IMD Regional Met Centre, light to moderate rain or thundershower has been predicted for one or two places in various districts till May 20. However, the Met department has not issued any warning for the period. 

The weather agency has issued Yellow Warning for Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj during May 20 to 21 while a same alert has been sounded for the  districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.
