Odisha To Witness Rainfall, Dense Fog Till New Year’s Eve: IMD

The Regional Meteorological Centre of the India Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday predicted that rainfall and fog is likely to occur in several parts of Odisha for next three days.

The Met Centre said light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over North Interior Odisha and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

The Met office has also issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall and hail storm over the districts of Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj for 24 hours. 

The Met Centre has predicted that shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Odisha on December 30.

Yellow warning for dense fog has been issued for Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Cuttack districts tomorrow.

On December 31, while dry weather is likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha, shallow to moderate fog might occur over the districts of North Odisha and at one or two places over Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Boudh districts.

The Met Centre has also issued yellow warning for dense fog in 15 districts, including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

However, dry weather is likely to prevail in the State on January 1 and 2, the Met Centre said its latest bulletin.

“No large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during next two days and gradual fall by 3 degree C to 5 degree C in subsequent three days over the districts of Odisha,” said the weather office.
