Odisha to experience enhanced rainfall; IMD issues yellow alert for heavy rainfall

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha. Enhanced rainfall activities are expected over the coming days, addressing current deficient rainfall in various districts.

IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in some Odisha districts

Even as several districts are grappling with deficient rainfall, there might be some change in the scenario as there is a possibility of enhanced rainfall activities in the coming days.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in several parts of Odisha in the coming days. A yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall has been issued by the IMD.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati ,Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.07.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati ,Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs ISTof 13.07.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam.
