Odisha, which generally experiences moderate weather on Raja, sizzled under intense heatwave condition as 13 places record temperature above 40 degree Celsius on Tuesday.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin, Sonepur recorded highest 44.2 degree Celsius followed by Bolangir (43.6), Jharsuguda (43.5), Sambalpur (43.4), Angul (43), Hirakud (43), Sundargarh (42.5), Titlagarh (42.4), Bargarh (41.6), Baripada (40.6), Boudh (40.5), Nayagarh (40) and Malkangiri (40).

The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar also encountered unbearable weather conditions as mercury shot up to 38.4 and 38 degree Celsius respectively.

Meanwhile, IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar has predicted there will be no large change in Maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 24 hours.

The maximum temperature is likely to fall gradually by 3 to 4 degree Celsisus in subsequent four days over the districts of Odisha.
