The winter chill has returned to Odisha with Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre predicting a fall in the night temperature. The cold wave tightened its grip across the State with the present condition likely to prevail for the next couple of days.

Temperatures are expected to remain below 15 degrees in more than 15 places in the state today, the Meteorological department predicted. Low visibility due to fog was also reported from different parts of the state, affecting vehicular movements.

This apart, the Meteorological department has also issued fog alerts in different places of Keonjhar, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, and other interior areas of Odisha.

Several parts of the Kandhamal district recorded cold conditions. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack also felt the chill.
