Odisha sees increase in minimum temp, mercury below 10 degree C at 10 places

After witnessing bone chilling cold conditions, the people across Odisha on Sunday got some respite following a marginal increase in the minimum or the night temperature. However, 10 places in the state recorded minimum temperature below 10 degree Celsius on Saturday night.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) today informed that Koraput was the coldest place in Odisha with a minimum temperature of 6.6 degree. Other places which recorded minimum temperature below 10 degree C are: Daringbadi (7), G.Udaygiri (7.4), Keonjhar (8.8), Sundargarh (9), Phulbani (9.5) and Similiguda (9.6).

The Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperature of 15.1 and 16 degree Celsius on Saturday, respectively.

Earlier, the IMD had predicted rise in the minimum temperature across Odisha. In its bulletin issued on Saturday, the weather agency had predicted rise in the minimum temperature by two to three degree C.
