Odisha is currently witnessing a scorching heatwave condition which has adversely affected normal life across the State. Boudh district on Thursday recorded highest maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius. This was season's highest maximum temperature recorded so far.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the severe heatwave conditions will prevail in Odisha for the next three to four days. An ‘Orange warning’ has also been issued for the heatwave conditions.

However, the maximum temperature is likely register a fall under the impact of Nor’wester from May 1-2, the IMD said.

As per IMD, the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded maximum temperature of 40 and 39.8 degrees, respectively.

As many as eight places in Odisha recorded maximum temperature of 44 degrees or above. 25 places in the State recorded maximum temperature of 40 degrees or above.
