Northwest India to experience rainfall from Jan 10

A fresh western disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from January 10 to 12. Under its influence, light rainfall is likely over Northwest India on January 10, informed India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

As per the IMD, an induced cyclonic circulation lies over southwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan in lower tropospheric levels. It is very likely to cause widespread, light to moderate rainfall over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-GilgitBaltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh till January 6 with isolated heavy rainfall/ snowfall likely over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh for two days till January 6.

Cold day to severe cold day conditions are very likely in isolated pockets of East Uttar Pradesh on January 4.
Cold day conditions are very likely in some parts of Himachal Pradesh on 6th & 7th; in isolated pockets of West Uttar Pradesh on 4th and Bihar on 4th & 5th January.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the district of Sundargarh, Kandhamal , Koraput, Angul.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.01.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.01.2025): Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
