Several parts of Odisha are experiencing intense heat and humid conditions for the past couple of days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday predicted that there will be no major change in the maximum (day) temperature during the next four to five days in the state.
The maximum temperature is very likely to be 40 degrees Celsius or more at a few places over the districts of Odisha during the next 3-4 days.
“Hot and discomfort weather at a few places over the districts of Odisha during next 3-4 days. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside,” said IMD.
However, the only respite is the fact that the Met Department has also predicted light to moderate rain or thunderstorm activities even if no warning has been issued in this regard.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore.
Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 10.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 11.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, and Mayurbhanj.
Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput, and Rayagada.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, and Balasore.
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and Mayurbhanj.
