The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said the active monsoon conditions prevail over Central India and along west coast of the country during the next five days.

The monsoon trough is active and south of its normal position. Similarly, a cyclonic circulation lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood.

Extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places occurred over Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred over East Rajasthan, Vidarbha Madhya Pradesh and Odisha in the past 24 hours.

Weather forecast and warning:

Fairly widespread/widespread rainfall with thunderstorm/ lightning is very likely over Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha during next 5 days.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Gujarat region on July 6, 7 and July 9 and over Chhattisgarh on July 7 and 8 and over Odisha on July 5 and July 9.

Scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall is also likely over Konkan & Goa during July 5 and July 8, 2022.

Isolated extremely heavy rainfall is likely over south Gujarat Region on July 5 and 8. Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely over Himachal Pradesh on July 6 and over Uttarakhand on July 5 and 6.
