The conditions are favourable for further advancement of the southwest monsoon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday said the southwest monsoon is likely to advance into some more parts of the south Bay of Bengal, Andaman Sea and Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the next two days.

As per IMD, a cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan and a trough runs from this to north Madhya Pradesh in lower tropospheric levels. Similarly, a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from May 29, 2023.
