The Southwest Monsoon has advanced into some more parts of the central Arabian Sea, parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Telangana, and some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

As per IMD, the conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Karnataka, some parts of south Maharashtra, goa, remaining parts of Rayalaseema, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of south Chhattisgarh and South Odisha, some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal during next 4-5days.

"No large change in the maximum temperature(day temperature) during the next 24hrs and gradual rise by 2 to 3 degree C during subsequent 4 days at many places over the districts of Odisha," said IMD.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 04.06.2024)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Khordha, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Kandhamal.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.06.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 05.06.2024)

Yellow Warning: Heatwave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Bargarh, Nuapada, Kandhamal.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.06.2024to 0830 hrs IST of 06.06.2024)
