As predicted, several parts of Odisha are experiencing cold condition with minimum (night) temperature dropping to 15 degree Celsius on Sunday night.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday said G.Udaygiri in Kandhamal district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 9.6 degrees yesterday.

The twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded minimum temperatures of 17 and 17.1 degrees respectively yesterday.

On Sunday, the IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar had predicted a drop in minimum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees. Accordingly, several parts in the state experienced cold conditions from today.

“There is no possibility of major change in the night temperature in the next 4 to 5 days. However, the minimum temperature is likely to be below normal by 2 to 3 degrees,” tweeted IMD today.
