Odisha is currently witnessing intense heat wave conditions with the mercury touching the highest maximum temperature of 46 degrees on Tuesday.

Apart from Balasore, Bhubaneswar also recorded a maximum temperature of 45.4 degrees by 2:30 pm today.

As per India Meteorological Department, (IMD), it is for the first time this season that mercury crossed the 45 degree C mark.

As per IMD, there will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 4 to 5 days at many places over the district of Odisha. 
Red warning for heatwave to severe heatwave conditions have been issued for several Odisha districts as well.
