As per the latest forecast, there will be a further rise in maxmumum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees during the next three days and no large change thereafter.

IMD Predicts Hot And Humid Conditions In Odisha

As predicted by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several parts of Odisha experienced a sudden rise in day temperatures on Sunday. 

As per the latest forecast, there will be a further rise in maxmumum temperature by 2 to 3 degrees during the next three days and no large change thereafter.

As per IMD, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is very likely to be equal and above 40°C in the isolated pockets districts of Bhubaneswar, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, Nuapada, Khordha, Rourkela, Sonepur, Nayagarh, Boudh, Paralekhamundi, Jajpur, Titilagarh ,Balasore, Chandbali, Cuttack, Angul, Baripada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bhawanipatna, and Bolangir.

However, there is also a possibility of light to moderate rainfall triggered by thunderstorm activities in some districts of the state.

Day 1 (Valid upto 0830 hrs IST of 12.05.2025): Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nabarangapur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Yellow Warning: Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.05.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2025): Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Nabarangapur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar,Rayagada, Gajapati, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Kalahandi, Deogarh.

Yellow Warning: Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2025 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.05.2025): Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Bargarh.

Yellow Warning: Heat wave conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Khordha, Cuttack, Kalahandi, Balasore. 

Hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar.
