The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall activities in different parts of Odisha in the next couple of days.

As per IMD, yesterday’s low-pressure area over the northeast and adjoining east-central Bay of Bengal has become a well-marked low pressure. It is likely to move west-north-westwards across north Odisha and adjoining West Bengal coasts during the next 24 hours.

Weather Forecast And Warning

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hours of 1.10.2023)

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over one or two districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack and Balasore.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Nayagarh, Boudh, Puri and Khordha.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hours of 1.10.2023 to 0830 hours of 2.10.2023)

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one of two places over the districts of Bolangir, Bargarh, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is also likely over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Nayagarh, Boudh, Kandhamal, Khordha, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur and Nuapada.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hours of 2.10.2023 to 0830 hours of 3.10.2023)

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Angul and Sonepur.

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall is likely to occur over the districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Mayurbhanj, Boudh, Kandhamal, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.
