Several parts of Odisha are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall under the influence of a low-pressure area that formed over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is likely to move West north-westwards and intensify into a depression over the West-central Bay of Bengal tomorrow.

IMD Bhubaneswar scientist, Uma Shankar Das informed that a yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for several Odisha districts. Three districts of the state- Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, and Puri are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall under the influence of the system.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput & at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Cuttack.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2023)

Yellow Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Puri.

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Khordha, Bhadrak , Cuttack, Jajpur, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.11.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 18.11.2023)

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara.
