A low pressure area under the influence of a cyclonic circulation is likely to develop over Southeast and adjoining Eastcentral Arabian Sea during next 36 hours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday informed that it is likely to move further west-north-west-wards and intensify into a depression over Central Arabian Sea around October 21, 2023.

As per IMD, another cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Andaman. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and a low pressure area is likely to form over Central parts of Bay of Bengal around October 20 under its influence.

As per IMD, the southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from remaining parts of Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, entire Northeast India; most parts of north Bay of Bengal, some more parts of Central Bay of Bengal and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana today.

Northwest India: Light to moderate rainfall at some/many places accompanied with isolated thunderstorm and lightning very likely over the entire region on October 17 and dry weather over the region from tomorrow.

South India: Light to moderate rainfall at some/many places with isolated heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala,Mahe, South Interior Karnataka on October 17.
