The well-marked low pressure area over central parts of the North Bay of Bengal with the associated cyclonic circulation persists, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday.

As per the IMD, the system is likely to move northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression during the next 12 hours. Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience heavy rainfall activities in the coming days.

The IMD has also issued an ‘orange warning’ for heavy rainfall in several districts.

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak .

Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh ,Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2023)

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Sundargarh, Cuttack, Balasore.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 03.08.2023)

Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi,Kandhamal.
