Heavy rainfall likely to lash Odisha; yellow warning issued

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued an alert for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall activities in several parts of Odisha in the coming days.

As per IMD, a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal around September 5, 2024.

Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh in the next 24 hours.
