  • Several parts of Odisha will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall between September 12 and September 14, 2021

A cyclonic circulation lies over east-central Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood and, under its’ influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over central Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

The system is very likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a ‘Depression’ during subsequent 48 hours.

As per the latest IMD bulletin, several parts of Odisha will experience heavy to very heavy rainfall between September 12 and September 14, 2021. An ‘Orange Warning’ for several districts has also been issued by the IMD.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 10.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 12.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Malkangiri, Koraput, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.09.2021)

Orange Warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khordha, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or twoplaces over the districts of Balasore, Dhenkanal, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Angul, Boudh and Kandhamal.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.09.2021)

Orange Warning (Be Prepared): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy falls at one or two places over the districts of Bolangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh and Deogarh.

Yellow Warning(To be updated): Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.09.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.09.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Deogarh.
