Low pressure forms over southeast BoB, to intensify into depression
As per the forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a low pressure area has formed over the east Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal (BoB) under the influence of upper air cyclonic circulation over the east Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining south Andaman Sea and southeast Bay of Bengal.
As per IMD, it is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over central parts of south Bay of Bengal around November 25.
Thereafter, it is likely to move north-westwards towards Tamil Nadu-Sri Lanka coasts during the subsequent two days.
Weather Forecast
Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during November 25 to 28 and isolated heavy rainfall on November 29.
Isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Nicobar Islands on November 23 & 24 N, Kerala and Mahe during November 26- 29 and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam & Rayalaseema during November 27- 29 November.
Fisherman warning:
Squally weather with wind speed 35 kmph to 45 kmph gusting to 55 kmph is likely to prevail over Andaman Sea during 23-26, southeast Bay of Bengal during 23 -27, southwest Bay of Bengal during 24-27, Comorin area and Gulf of Mannar on 25 & 27, along and off Sri Lanka coast during 25–27, south Kerala coast & westcentral Bay of Bengal on 26 & 27 and Tamil Nadu coast on 27 November.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, said IMD
