Under the influence of yesterday’s cyclonic circulation over Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, a Low Pressure area has formed over Westcentral and adjoining Eastcentral Bay of Bengal, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday.

It is very likely to become more marked over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts during next 48 hours.

As per IMD, the monsoon trough runs south of its normal position and a cyclonic circulation lies over Coastal Karnataka and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels.

IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar yesterday had issued heavy rainfall warning for several parts of the state.

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Mayurbhanj and at many places over rest districts of Odisha.

Day-2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 09.09.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 10.09.22)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over districts of coastal Odisha, South interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day-3 to Day-4: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 10.09.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 12.09.22)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over districts of Odisha.

Day-5: (Valid from 0830 Hrs IST of 12.09.22 to 0830 Hrs IST of 13.09.22)

Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at most places over districts of north interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha.
